"CRASH" S/S 14 Lookboopeningceremony.com ok from From the look of Opening Ceremony's Spring/Summer 2014 lookbook, "Crash", the designers (Carol Lim & Humberto Leon) of this New York based brand (though it has now developed, was doubtlessly born there) has pretty much exposed what this editorial is about. As said in the Opening Ceremony website, Opening Ceremony has interpreted the word "crash" into a whole other. From what I, personally, see that the whole creative idea of putting pieces of Opening Ceremony's SS14 collection including their 5 element neoprene pieces in forms of high-waisted jeans, cross-over dress, strapless bustier, etc. put together in picture frames taken from atop with the perfect amount of vibrant colors and white has captured a festive image. As how I see it, it somehow gives me a vibe like kind of "let's get festive! no sleep is needed." but that's just me. Opening Ceremony, or OC for short is a brand started in New York City by two friends in 2002, both with an Asian background and slowly expanding which is now also an e-commerce site, a TV channel, and annual magazine as well. The first ever OC fashion show happened last September at the industrial SuperPier on New York’s Hudson River featuring super expensive cars like Lamborghinis and Bentleys, with the collection showing accents of Korean wear.
